Booking a nikah session and what to expect
Have an Islamic judge conduct your nikah (marriage contract) at our office or an external venue of your choosing.
Services
The nikah service includes:

A judge (qadhi) conducting the marriage contract

Short reminder and advice to attendees, and a supplication for the couple

3 certificates. Two given to the couple and one retained by the centre. The certificates prove your marriage under Islamic Law (not English Law) and will be required when travelling for Hajj. Additional certificates are £30 each.
Booking a Session
Bookings are arranged by using our online booking system. A booking request must be submitted at least 14 days in advance for administration and other purposes. We will then contact you and confirm the booking in 2 working days.

Pricing
Onsite bookings are £100. The cost for external bookings start from £200 and may vary depending on distance. (Client may be required to arrange transport for the judge if distance is considerably far).
Upon confirmation, cancellations made 5 days in advance of the booking will be issued a refund within 14 working days. You may cancel by phone or by clicking cancel on the booking confirmation email.
Cancellations made within 5 days of the booking will not be issued a refund.
Your Personal Information
New patients will be registered to the centre. All personal information will be kept confidential.
Basic Requirements
In order for a marriage to be conducted by a Fitrah Centre judge, the following conditions must be satisfied:

Religious compatibility. Both spouses must be Muslim.

Mutual Agreement. Both families must agree or have been clearly informed of the couple’s intention to marry except in the case of revert Muslims. Fitrah Centre does not conduct secret or runaway marriages.

Presence of bride’s guardian. The bride’s guardian (wali) or attorney (wakil) must be present. A guardian is the bride’s father or next of male kin. In extenuating circumstances, the judge may act as the bride’s wali (like in the case of a female revert).

Age compliance. Bride and groom must be 18 years or over.

Witnesses. Two Muslim adult males must be present. It is preferred that one witness is represented from either side (both from the bride and groom) and not from the immediate family. Including the bride’s wali, there will be three witnesses present in total.

Dowry. A dowry must be agreed between both parties prior to the nikah.
The judge reserves the right to decline conducting the marriage contract if any of these conditions are unfulfilled.
External Bookings
Clients must comply to the following requests for external bookings:

Punctuality. It is not polite to keep the judge waiting.

Point of contact. Please allocate a person to be available for the judge to contact on the day.

No music. Music is to be switched off in the presence of the judge.

Gender segregation. Please ensure that men and women are seated separately.

PA System. Large venues should hold PA system.

Attention. Whilst the nikah ceremony is conducted, movement of attendees should be at a minimal and food should not be served.
Invitations to wedding celebrations are graciously received. We thank you in advance. Where possible the judge will stay as long as possible. Please refrain from stalling his exit as there are numerous engagements in one day and time keeping is of utmost importance.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines
We advise those exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus to self-isolate and not make an onsite booking until full recovery. Symptoms include:

shortness of breath
We kindly request all patients:

make wudu prior to arrival
-
wash your hands upon arrival
-
cover mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (not hands) when coughing or sneezing. Wash your hands thereafter.
