Envy (Hasad)
This book explains the phenomena of hasad (envy)—a subtle yet destructive disease of the heart—one that lurks beneath the surface of human interaction and corrodes both the envier and the envied.
The Qur’an and Sunnah speak clearly about its danger, commanding believers to seek refuge “from the evil of the envier when he envies.” Envy is not merely as a moral flaw, but a spiritual illness requiring careful diagnosis, understanding, and treatment. This book is meant more for the envier than for those who are envied, and almost all of us, at some point, may find ourselves playing the role of the envier.
