The Repentant Magician – Part 3: How “Karamat” Are Manufactured

In the previous videos, the former magician described how he entered occult practice, how talismans and numerical seals were introduced to him, and how an ongoing relationship with jinn operated through particular conditions, signs and coded instructions.

In video 3, he begins pulling back the curtain on something slightly different: the extraordinary phenomena or “miracles” that persuaded other people that he was a righteous saint rather than someone involved in magic.

The lecture revolves around karamat [extraordinary occurrences associated with righteous saints].

The speaker explains that during his former life he became famous for apparently impossible feats: crossing wells on a thin and fragile stalk, causing tea trays and cups to move through the air, apparently striking the door of the Kabah from thousands of miles away, travelling enormous distances in moments, and rescuing a woman from danger despite not physically being present.

At the time, he says these events were interpreted as proof that he was a wali [saint] and qutb [spiritual pole]. After his repentance, however, he explained: the phenomena were produced through jinn, deception and occult arrangements.

1. Hamid’s Own Karamat

The speaker lists several extraordinary feats that were attributed specifically to him:

  • Moving water jug

After emerging from the khalwah [occult retreat], a clay water jug was said to have received his barakah [blessing]. Later, it and other jugs moved by themselves. Hamid says young jinn were actually carrying them while remaining unseen.

  • The miraculous step [al-khutwah]

He says he was able to cover enormous distances almost instantly. People regarded this as the earth being miraculously contracted for him. He explained that an ifrit [strong jinn] was actually carrying him.

  • Walking across wells on a thin stalk

His followers would place a single and very thin stalk across a deep well — it was so fragile that it could be broken between one’s fingers, but he would walk across it without falling or breaking the stalk. The stalk was then treated as blessed and taken to other villages for tabarruk [seeking blessing]. He explained that an ifrit had placed its large hand across the well and that he was actually walking on this unseen support rather than on the stalk itself.

  • Flying tea tray and cups

During gatherings, trays of tea moved through the crowd without anyone carrying them. Empty cups also rose from the ground and placed themselves onto the tray. He explained that jinn were carrying the tray and moving the cups.

  • Striking the door of the Kabah

When people questioned his chosen qiblah direction, he would strike into the air and they would hear a loud metallic sound which he identified as the door of the Kabah, despite being thousands of kilometres away. He explained that a concealed piece of resonant metal was actually producing the sound.

  • The rescue of Hajjah Batul

An elderly woman facing a dangerous animal called upon Shaykh Hamid for help and then saw what appeared to be Hamid descending from the sky to rescue her. When she later came to him with a vowed goat, he already knew her name and what had happened. He explained that one jinn had appeared as the threatening animal, another had taken his appearance to stage the rescue, and his own jinn (the one contracted in earlier videos) subsequently informed him of the incident before she arrived.

This is one of the most important points in the entire video. In the speaker’s account, these apparent miracles were ultimately staged supernatural deceptions designed to strengthen belief in the shaykh and redirect religious dependence toward him.

2. Ikhfa: Concealing Physical Objects

While explaining the Kabah-door episode, the speaker introduces a concept called ikhfa [concealment].

According to him, jinn can conceal an object from normal human vision while it remains physically present.

He gives examples of an object being present but rendered unseen and even explains that, under his former occult arrangements, people could potentially hear him speaking while being unable to see him.

3. His Discussion of Amulets That Apparently “Work”

The speaker mentions an amulet given to a former soldier.

According to the soldier, the amulet had protected him during years of fighting: bullets allegedly passed around him while striking others, and blades supposedly failed to harm him.

The speaker says he privately tested the object and found that it produced an actual effect.

Hamid wished to show a public demonstration of the amulet with a piece of meat rather than risk harming a person. He expected the meat to become resistant to cutting while the amulet remained “active”.

He then proposed Quranic recitation and the adhan, after which he believed the effect would disappear.

After remaining silent, he expected the effect to return.

His explanation was that a jinn had been assigned to the amulet, temporarily withdrawing during Quranic recitation and returning once the recitation stopped.

But that public experiment did not actually happen in video 3, because the soldier did not attend.

4. What Video 3 Adds to the Overall Picture of Magic

Videos 1 and 2 concentrated largely upon the magician himself and his initiation into magic.

Video 3 begins showing what everyone else sees:

·      The practitioner has already entered the occult system.

·      He has established relationships with jinn.

·      He has learned signals, symbols and conditions.

Now those hidden arrangements produce public phenomena.

The audience does not see the jinn relationship.

It sees only the “karamah” [miracle].
